MARKET The market is the age-old place for people to gather and to look at things, as well as to buy and sell. These works combine aspects of the ancient and the modern, highlighting the relationships between them: pre-industrial trading and present-day consumerism; handmade objects and standardisation; the natural and the artificial. The works also consider notions of art and display: trivia finding worth through being exhibited whilst other objects may be trivialised or misinterpreted. 1.
